Our Mission

THE practicum is an ensemble based theatre laboratory. It was founded as an effort to bring together artists from varied disciplines. The mission of THE practicum is to serve any and all artistic storytelling from a multi-faceted approach in order to reach a larger, more diverse audience. THE practicum is dedicated to educating while learning and learning while educating. THE practicum productions are not married to any specific method and will make full use of visceral storytelling leading to industrious and unique performances. By taking traditional artistic approaches and implementing various forms of media THE practicum will ignite an artist's multiple senses and will lead to a fully fleshed -out brand of theatre. THE practicum is collaborative in nature. THE practicum proposes questions rather than answers. It questions training, the process of performance creation and the meaning of it all. The core ensemble will generate and efficiently manage the necessary resources needed to make our productions accessible and affordable to our community.
